CHAPEL ALLERTON
DPR have recently completed the repair of a chimney on the roof of a property in Chapel Allerton, near Leeds. Following an initial site survey at the Chapel Allerton home, DPRs Roofers identified damage to the chimney lead flashings.
The first phase of the project involved stripping out the roof slates and setting these aside for re-use. The damaged flashings and soakers were then removed. DPRs roofers then re-slated the exposed areas, incorporating new code four lead soakers (with traditional lead plugs). These were then pointed off in a leadmate compound rather than mortar, as our professional roofers were aware that mortar often cracks due to the differential thermal movement of mortar and lead.
Around the chimney, all the roof tiles that were in tact were re-used, while any damaged roof
slates were replaced with good quality second hand slates, using code 4 lead straps and galvanised fixings.
The customer commented, "I am really pleased with the quality of work undertaken by DPR's roofers. We obtained several quotes from other roofers in Chapel Allerton, and DPR were by far the most professional. They took photos before and after the repair work was completed and kept us informed throughout the whole process. We would definitely recommend their roofing services to others."
